Looking Down the Barrel


Five Questions concerning "Steel Barrel News" feature alleging:

"Supervisor invents Safety rules to harass workers"

Question One: Did Adam Munoz actually author the arbitrary changes to an official Management/Union safety document (with his name added) specifying "clairifications" (sic) highlighted in blue ink describing the requirements of Personal Protective Equipment, and emphasizing that if these new rules were not adhered to, penalties would result…up to and including discharge.

Answer: Adam has said that he did not.

Question Two: If Adam did not revise the recognized safety regulation, and he does not subscribe to this posted drivel, then why has he allowed this document (with his name added) to remain posted directly above the South time clock, for three weeks after its discovery by this reporter?

Answer: Well…?

[Note from Webmaster of Steel - It is now August 23 and the above referenced posted drivel is STILL there. Are our safety people and Union Officials not paying attention?]

Question Three: Has upper management detected this breach of established safety program procedures and State and Federal law - and/or have they made any attempts to uncover the perpetrator of this allegedly fraudulent document (with his name added)?

Answer: Apparently not.

Question Four: Will upper management take any action when they discover that this ill-formed folly is still posted (with his name added)?

Answer: Well…?

Question Five: Does Management intend to debate the validity of these questions with our Union Representatives, or I.O.S.H.A.?

Answer: I hope they sell tickets…(with his name added).
