"Local 2038 Reform Slate" Announced
Kensey Alsman and Mike Battista, two of the founders of Steel Barrel News, have joined forces with Jeff Kleefisch, a frequent contributer
to SBN, to form the "Local 2038 Reform Slate" in the upcoming Re-do of the Executive Board election.
Kensey, who was recently profiled on the "Association for Union
Democracy"`website, and is also known as the "Webmaster of Steel," has been chosen to head the ticket and run for President.
Mike Battista, who, in May of this year, proposed a by-law change that would open
up the secret and hidden financial condition of Local 2038, is the
Reform Slate's choice for Secretary Treasurer.
Jeff Kleefisch, a 12 year veteran of Local 2038, and frequent critic
of the current administration, has chosen to take on the task of
fixing Local 2038's broken grievance procedure and is running for
Business Agent.
Kensey, Jeff, and Mike were three of the nine original complainants that convinced the Department of Labor to overturn the previous Executive Board election and allow full membership participation for the first time in the history of Local 2038.
It is not known at this time who their opponents are but it is rumored
that current President Michael DaVaney has opted out of the contest
altogether and that former disgraced Local President, and current Atlantic
Coast District Vice President, Andre Joseph, has petitioned the
Department of Labor to declare him eligible to run in this election.
