NOTE FROM THE WEBMASTER OF STEEL: It is a general policy of "Steel Barrel News" that we do not make Union Brothers or Sisters "Bunghole of the Month." But it is also our policy to give a voice to hourly workers at Beta Steel, and this has been true since our inception in 1947. The following newsletter was purportedly written by "...the membership of ILA local 2038 ..." so we felt it more fitting to post it here than on the back of the Men's Restroom door where we found it. This is not to mention the fact that the Webmaster of Steel (and The Most Famous Active Steelworker in the World Today) tends to accept all titles and honorariums awarded him. LT will just have to live with that. What follows is the aforementioned newsletter printed in its entirety. LT and Kensey Alsman This months bungholes of the month go to LT and Kensey Alsman. We the membership of ILA local 2038 give these two fine gentlemen this honorary title for their great efforts in the total destruction of the union. At no other time, in the ILA's history, has anyone with little or no seniority has made an attempt to do a hostile take over of local 2038 for their own personal gains. With LT's claim of "proper representation for the membership" being a reason for breaking away from local 2038, he doesn't realize his own failure as an officer of the union only proves his ability to properly represent any member in any local. This alone moved LT up the ladder of this honorary title. Kensey's ability to provide management with local 2038's financial report earned him a shot at the number 1 spot as well. The final decision was made, to give these two fine gentlemen this honorary title, when It was discovered the way the petition was advertised when they asked people to sign. Some members were told the petition was for a special meeting, but was submitted for a full membership vote to break away with no special meeting intended. It is our greatest pleasure to formally announce our newest bungholes of the month, LT and Kensey Alsman! Great job guys. YOU EARNED IT! Dueling Bungholes?
