I think that the great people at Warner Bros. Cartoons coined the name Looney Tunes to promote outrageous cartoons. They would depict different characters in episodal adventures. Through the years we grew up and learned that these cartoon frames were just for entertainment and that they were NOT for real.

Then, by the grace of Family ties, enters our great 'ILA' family leadership team.

I heard one of the officers berating the AIG corporation for taking all this bonus money and about others robbing the tax payers blind..

HELLO;..We have been asking for our Local 2038 financial reports for over a year now, have we seen one?
HELLO;..Another conference has been held in Florida. What did our dues money get to pay for this time?
HELLO;..We are contractually bound to give yet another 1% of our wages to the Atlantic District, for what? maybe it should be returned
HELLO;..Was it just last week, maintenance could NOT bump to Banding?
HELLO;..This week, the production crews are bumping Banding Personnel completely out the door! What changed between weeks?

• We have by-laws that say you can vote.
• We have officers that say that you cannot vote.
• We have members that can be nominated for office but cannot vote for themselves.
• Our Executive Committee can write blank checks for $10,000.00 any time they want and think they don't have to show us where the money went.
• We have dues paying members that don't have the right to run for office.

This list could go on for quite awhile but the message is this - There is a new movement stirring.

There are many members in the Beta Division and others in Local 2038 that are not happy with the present administration and their fondness for their own self-preservation at any cost.

If we lose our right to have one vote for one person then we are at the mercy of cliques and cronyism. Even while we have throngs of members being layed off throughout the Port of Indiana, our Union Representativess are in Florida having a gay old time with our dues money. Under the circumstances, one would think that maybe only one Representative from the area should attend.

But, that is why they call it . . .
