Dear Editor,
It should behoove all the members of local 2038 to applaud; We now have a financial report read at the union meetings.
As of our last meeting, our finance officer was quoted as saying; "We have about $10,000.00, that is all I have to report".
I do not know about all of the other members in our union, but I was just blown away by this. I mean, we are really moving along with this right to information stuff. He could have just said that we have some cash on hand. Maybe the board didn't understand that we wanted a report on each committee and board member.
Let's hear your thoughts . . . post them . . . be heard.

Note from the Editor
According to Local 2038 by-laws (ARTICLE VII
Section 2. paragraph b):
"The Secretary Treasurer shall make available to the Executive Board and the membership a financial report as to the status of all monies in the local's treasury at each Executive Board meeting and at each membership meeting . . . "
In my experience "status of all monies" means things like income, expenses, assets, liabilities, cash flow, debt, etc. As one member was overheard to say at the last meeting, "If the treasurer of my bowling league gave a financial report like that we'd have his head."
